Simone Demandt

In the upper gallery of the Kunsthalle Göppingen, a selection of 25 photographs from the 50-portrait series MOVERS, shot in medium close-up and presented in life-size formats, is being exhibited for the first time. This series by Simone Demandt is characterized by its focus on a specific occupational group, which gives the individuals depicted and their community a distinct identity.

The MOVERS exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to engage with the anonymous worlds of long-haul truck drivers and develop a deeper understanding of their everyday reality. MOVERS thus represents not only an interesting artistic perspective but also a significant European narrative about a professional group that is often overlooked yet makes a very substantial contribution to society.
